Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a lot of walking involved?
The walk is a gentle stroll with many stops. Please be aware the tour is outdoors and although we only walk in areas of public access, some areas are dark so please take good care on the footpaths and the roads.
Will I need a torch?
If your walk ends after sunset, a small torch or your smartphone light will help you along a couple of dark alleyways. Most of the time, streetlights show the way.
Can I join if I arrive late?
The tour will depart promptly at the appropriate time. Latecomers can find the group via the route listing on our website. We won’t be able to take calls or answer texts whilst the walk is in progress.
Is tipping expected?
Tips are optional and appreciated, but a lovely [review](https://g.page/r/CTkTrk9Zkb27EAI/review) of the tour is just as welcome!
How can I cancel if I can no longer make it?
We understand plans may change. All cancellations made more than 24 hours before departure will receive a full refund. Cancel through the same method you made the booking or email us. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the tour, we are generally unable to offer a refund. However, where possible, we may allow you to reschedule to another date without additional charge, depending on availability.
Can I bring my well behaved dog?
Yes – dogs are more than welcome to join our journey, they have a sixth sense for the paranormal!
Is the tour accessible for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, or pushchairs?
There is one steep section of the walk for about 100 m which is on the road. Pushchairs, mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs can successfully navigate this route. It is not recommended for a manually pushed wheelchair, but we will assist if required.
Will the tour run in all weathers?
We plan to run in all weathers, but a tour may be cancelled by us due to severe weather or illness. If this happens you may choose a full refund or alternative date. We have never cancelled for the weather since we started.
How many people are on the tour?
On any tour our maximum capacity is normally 25 people in high season. We run the tour with low numbers too, so if you book, you go. Weather and exceptions may apply, but we haven’t cancelled a tour yet!
Where does the walk finish?
The tour will finish on the opposite side of the harbour at the north quay carpark.
How long is the tour?
The tour normally lasts up to 90 minutes. With larger groups, it can overrun slightly.
Are children and infants welcome?
We advise parental guidance, but we keep most of the language spooky rather than frightening. There are no jump scares on this walk or other actors.
Will I be able to hear everything?
Once the group size is around 8 or larger, we use a microphone so everyone can hear the stories clearly.  We have our own background mood music to enhance the experience.
Where do we meet?
We will meet at the Old Custom House, Padstow, S Quay, Padstow PL28 8BL, UK Meet opposite this landmark pub by the red lifebelt. Watch for traffic. <https://w3w.co/boards.secretly.typist>
Can I take pictures?
You may take as many pictures as you wish and short video clips are welcome. Share and tags us on your social media #theghostwalkpadstow Please do not video or audio record the whole tour.  Thomas Rawlings is very happy to pose with your family and he may let you hold his lantern!  We like to take our own picture for social media on every tour.
